Privacy

What we keep

  • Your account: name, email address and a hashed password.
  • What you study: the languages you add, your decks, cards and tags, and every answer you give in a study session.
  • What AI costs you: one record per request to the model, with its token counts and price, so your monthly allowance can be enforced.

What the AI sees

When you generate cards, Langu sends Anthropic the topic, text or word list you gave it, the language and your level, and the words already in that deck so they are not proposed again. Nothing is sent until you ask for cards. Your name, email and password are never sent.

Product analytics

Langu uses PostHog, hosted in the EU, to see how the app is used and to find what breaks. It records the pages you open and actions such as adding a language, creating a deck or card, generating cards and starting or finishing a study session, with your account id, name and email. It also records sessions — what the screen showed and where you clicked — with everything typed into form fields masked. Errors the app hits are sent with your account id.

Cookies

One session cookie to keep you signed in, and one that protects forms from forgery. PostHog sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share what you study with anyone but Anthropic and PostHog as described above.

Deleting your account

Delete your account from your profile at any time. Your decks, cards, answers and AI records are deleted with it.
